Keeping ourselves safe

This Term we have working on keeping ourselves safe (Kos). We first listened to a story and we listed down what we could do if we were in that scenario and how that might effect others. We did 2 of these stories. The other day we had Constable Terry come in for a session on keeping ourselves safe. In this session we talked about the different types of abuse, the different types of abuse are Physical, Neglect, Family, Emotional, Sexual and Cyber abuse. We have worked on a babysitters guide for what you would think... babysitting. 

Technology Term 4

This Term in technology at the high school we had a choice of what we could do around there.I have decided to go work in the metal work room which this term is Trash to Cash. In this class we have to make toys out of recycled stuff. Megan And I have Decided to work together and make a train out of cans and milk tops. Here is our reflections about what happened in the recent weeks.

Basic Italian

In class we are learning Italian with Miss Power. We had to find Italy on the map and then we learnt basic phrases in Italian. We had to put them on a google drawing and make it look good. Here is my drawing.

Maths DLO

3 or 4 Weeks ago Eli and I made a DLO for nets in maths. I was a bit late in posting this but here it is.

I really like the outcome of it.

Numeracy Week 10

This week in numeracy we have been learning to find percentages of a number and I have made a DLO (Digital Learning object) about it

Visiting author

Yesterday we had 1 of the 2 authors for the book which we are reading called The Mines Afire. We had Thelma Eakin come in. We asked her questions about her book she wrote. She decided to write the  book to be different because there were no books about the Brunner Mine. Before she wrote the book worked on a play called the mines afire that took them 2 years to write because of finding history about the brunner mine disaster.

Colour Day 2019

Today we have had Colour Day in New Zealand where we wear bright colours all over New Zealand to raise money for the people affected by the tragedy in Christchurch. I decided to wear a bright blue shirt and I had nothing bright for shorts so I wore some navy blue shorts. Here is a poster about what is happening today.

Cupcakes For family fiesta

This week I have decorated cupcakes for our Family Fiesta. At the Family Fiesta our syndicate makes cupcakes and they get judged and then they can be bought. I have decorated these cupcakes like flowers.

If we made the cupcakes it would have taken longer but it took me 30 minutes to decorate

This week in music we have made a 4 note composition today. Here is a slide of our work.

T1 W5

This week for science we did this experiment where we fill a cup up with water and put an egg into it. the egg was sinking until we put salt into it. we put lots of salt into it to make the water more dense I really liked the experiment because it was pretty interesting and weird to see the egg float.

Shapes in Numeracy

This week in Maths we learnt about a rhombus, trapezium, parallelogram and quadrilateral and find out
the definition. This was interesting learning about different shapes
